The lodgings include an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with vaulted ceilings which provide a warm and happy atmosphere. It is tastefully decorated to a very high standard with everything provided. Accommodations include a dishwasher, washer/dryer and a beautiful rock faced fireplace.

This chalet on Mt Washington has the most amazing views overlooking Strathcona Provincial Park (BC's oldest Park) with its forests, lakes and mountains. The deck has a large family size bbq and patio chairs in the summer so that you may enjoy BC's lovely weather,breathtaking views and incredible sunsets.

Strathcona Vacation Rental home is located at 1375A Henry Rd, in Mount Washington Alpine Resort. We are only 25kms West of Courtenay / Comox and the Comox Valley and 30 kms South of Campbell River, smack dab in the middle of Vancouver Island. There is direct access from the new Island Highway 19, making Victoria, British Columbia only 3 hours away.

IN WINTER:

Skiing! Skiing! Skiing! That’s what Mount Washington Alpine Ski Resort is all about in the winter. When you stay with us you can drive right up to Strathcona Vacation Rental and then ski out onto the slopes or catch the high Speed 6 seater “Hawk” chair lift, which is just outside our front door. We are the second closest ski chalet to the Nordic Lodge and the cross country ski trails, snow shoeing and luge track.

IN SUMMER:

The entrance to Paradise Meadows (part of Strathcona Provincial Park) is right on our doorstep. From your Strathcona Vacation Rental home lodgings you can enjoy a relaxed stroll on the unique boardwalk trails (to minimize damage to the fragile alpine eco-system) or take an adventurous hike. There are many marked trails through the forests and open meadows leading right up to pristine alpine lakes with views of Vancouver Island’s snow capped mountains.

SIGHTSEEING:

From your Mount Washington vacation getaway you can go sightseeing in the Comox Valley or visit other nearby Vancouver Island destinations! The ocean and the Comox Valley are only a 30km/30 min drive and there are plenty of things for you to enjoy. Outdoor activities include boating, kayaking, sailing, fishing, golfing (at some really excellent golf courses), hiking, beach combing and swimming. Courtenay and Comox also offer excellent cultural entertainment with museums, art galleries, theatres and top notch restaurants.

If you head north you can visit picturesque Campbell River, “The Salmon Capital of the World” for some fishing, visit the Campbell River Museum or attend a First Nations cultural dance performance. From Mt. Washington everything is just a hop, skip and jump away on the new Island Highway #19!
